Emerge: Building a Sisterhood Among Women Leaders

On Saturday, I had the honor of attending my first Emerge training. Emerge is a series of political training classes for women who are candidates or who want to be candidates for political office.

The speaker on Saturday gave us great tips on tying our personal stories to our issues and “the ask”– what we want others to do (vote, donate, get involved).

At the end of the day, after hearing all of their stories, their struggles, and their passion, I realized that Arizona government would be a completely different place if all of us got elected to office.

Women need programs like Emerge to strengthen women candidates and build the sisterhood. After all, we are fighting against 100s of years of Good Old Boy traditions.
